[Analysis Case] Analysis of organic fluorine compounds (PFOS, PFOA, etc.)

We can conduct analysis of products, wastewater, and environmental water.

Organic fluorinated compounds are used in various applications such as surfactants and metal plating agents. Among them, perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) is a substance regulated under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), which restricts its manufacture, use, and import/export. Furthermore, the addition of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) to the list of regulated substances is also being considered. In addition to PFOA and PFOS, perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCA) and perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids (PFAS) with different carbon chain lengths can also be analyzed simultaneously.

[Seminar] Latest Domestic and International Regulatory Trends on PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)

Chemical Substance Management Regulations, Alternative Substances, Trends in Various Industries

Our company will hold a seminar titled "Latest Domestic and International Regulatory Trends on PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), Corporate Risks, and Response Cases." Recently, there has been a global strengthening of regulations regarding PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances). This seminar will introduce the latest regulatory trends in Europe, the United States, and Japan, as well as the risks faced by companies and examples of corporate responses. We will also discuss how to consider the strengthening of PFAS regulations in advancing business activities. Additionally, we will provide detailed explanations of the public consultation results regarding the proposed restrictions on all PFAS under the REACH regulation, which received approximately 5,600 public comments, along with trends in various industries. [Seminar Details] ■ Date and Time: May 16, 2024 (Thursday) 9:30 - 11:30 (Doors open at 9:00) ■ Venue: JPI Conference Square ■ Address: 5-2-32 Minamiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Kowa Hiroo Building ■ Participation Method: In-person, live streaming, archived streaming ■ Instructor: Mizuho Research & Technologies Co., Ltd. We propose a new method for the decomposition of PTFE!

We have newly discovered a method to decompose PTFE (Teflon) in an extremely simple way! Useful fluorine compounds and carbon can be obtained from PTFE!

Our company has discovered a method for decomposing PTFE using simple equipment and materials, as described in patent 7372610. By using this method, it is possible to extract tin fluoride and carbon from PTFE waste.

About the organic fluorine compounds "PFOS" and "PFOA"

We will also explain the effects of regulated organic fluorinated compounds such as "PFOS" and "PFOA"!

There are thousands of types of "organic fluorine compounds" made using fluorine. There is a wide variety of compounds; some enrich our lives by contributing to the development of new materials like fluorine resins, while others are dangerous and can have harmful effects on the human body. Fluorine compounds that have raised concerns about their impact on human health and the environment, leading to regulations on their manufacture, include "PFOS" and "PFOA." What are these substances, and why are they regulated? Here, we will explain their overview. *For detailed information, please refer to the PDF. Feel free to contact us for more details.*
